One of them was selected and hired as an actor for one day. Since he is Ukrainian, he is not legally permitted to work in the Schengen Area; he can only do so illegally. It is against the law for him to provide any kind of performance. The word “performance” has been appropriated by the art world to designate a performative presentation of art. The worker was hired as an actor; he was paid three times the wages of an illegal day laborer for his performance.
